When you are purchasing an ebook, what do you look for? The price, sure that is an important aspect in deciding if you should purchase the ebook. The ebook author may have a lot of content on their site telling you what is in the actual ebook, but for many, knowing what other people think about the ebook is just as impressive.

Customers want to know what type of people have purchased the ebook, what they gained from reading the ebook, are they satisfied with their purchase, how eager they are to promote or recommend the ebook, how well the author came across in teaching or explaining his ebook subject. It is imperative that you include testimonials on your website as they work as an endorsement to the quality of your digital product. Testimonials are pivotal in helping secure the sale of your digital product.

How do you get testimonials?

Well of course you need to promote your ebook even before anyone has purchased it. To get around this, ask your friends or work colleagues to read through the ebook and offer their feedback. Ask them questions like:

* Before you read the ebook, what were your expectations?
* What did you gain from reading my ebook?
* Was it presented professionally?
* Was it easy to read, did it flow well?
* Was my website sales pitch misleading in any way?

After receiving this feedback, you may have to go back and change a few things in your ebook. But that’s ok. It all helps to improve on the quality and provide a polished finished product.

Negative Feedback

It’s not always a bad thing to hear negative feedback about your ebook. Always take it into consideration and if they have a valid point, act on it. Ask others if they agree. It may help you to improve your digital product and create more sales.

A few tips

* Use REAL testimonials. Your customers will see through any fake ones and once they do they will leave your website in a flash. No-one wants to deal with a sketchy website.

* Ask purchasers if they are willing to supply feedback after they have read the ebook. You can include a short message in your purchase email notification asking if they would like to provide feedback on your product.

* Never include testimonials that include their full name, contact details or photo without their written permission. This is a big no-no and could land you in some legal trouble. However, including a photo of the person providing the testimonial can provide a little more credibility to the endorsement. Just get their permission first.
